Flooring Inspection

We make fixing the little things easy

Construction is a messy business and, occasionally, there will be a casualty – a scratch (or other damage) in your new appliance. Because life happens to all of us, we have developed a process to report concerns.

Reporting flooring damage is time sensitive and specific procedures must be followed.

If a concern is discovered after the flooring installer has left the property, it is handled as outlined in the manufacturer's' warranty. Warranty information can be found on the flooring manufacturer's website.

PCI will be conducting an inspection of the job. It is important that the customer completes a timely inspection as well.

Flooring Inspection Procedure

All flooring need to be inspected by the customer immediately after install.
  • Any damage needs to be reported to PCI in writing within 24 hours of flooring install (email to [email protected]).
  • According to NAHB construction standards, a concern is something that is readily visible when viewed under normal lighting conditions from a standing position facing the surface at the distance of six feet.
  • Although you may discuss a concern with the installer, that is not officially reporting a concern. A concern must be emailed to PCI as outlined.
  • Take a picture of the concern (whole countertop and close up). A video may also be helpful to explain the concern.
  • Email pictures and a short description to document a concern.
  • Let us know your expectation to resolve the concern (give us your opinion of what needs to be done regarding repair and/or replacement)
  • PCI cannot be responsible for damage created by a third party (other subs etc...).
  • A daily inspection by the customer is required for multi day installs.
