Cabinet Inspection Process

Construction is a messy business and, occasionally, there will be a casualty – a scratch (or other damage) in your new cabinet. Because life happens to all of us, we have developed a process to report concerns.

Reporting cabinet damage is time sensitive and specific procedures must be followed. For the purpose of this process, damage is defined as a scratch, ding or dent in a cabinet or cabinet part.

If a concern is discovered after the cabinets are installed, it is handled as outlined in the manufacturer's' warranty. Warranty information can be found on the cabinet manufacturer's website.

  • All cabinets / cabinet parts need to be inspected immediatly after they are installed. Concerns not immediatly reported may not be covered under the warranty.​
 
  • According to NAHB construction standards, a concern is something that is readily visible when viewed under normal lighting conditions from a standing position facing the surface at the distance of six feet.
 
  • In the event of damage, document by taking pictures before the cabinet is installed. 
   
  • Although you may discuss a concern with the cabinet installer, that is not officially reporting a concern. A concern must be emailed to PCI-ATL as outlined.
 
  • Use the plan provided to you with your order paperwork to identify the cabinet location of your concern. Identify the cabinet by its sku (example W3036).
 
  • Take a picture of the whole cabinet with the concern. A video may also be helpful to explain the concern.
 
  • Email pictures and a short description to document the concern.
 
  • Let us know your expectation to resolve the concern (give us your opinion of what needs to be done regarding repair and/or replacement).

  • PCI-ATL cannot be responsible for damage created by a third party (other subs etc...).
